What did Jesus Accomplish at the Cross?

What did Jesus Accomplish at the Cross?

Jesus’ suffering and death accomplishes many things. Some people want to assert that the cross means one thing only. There’s nothing in the Bible that says this. Indeed, Paul himself uses multiple terms for Jesus’ death. Let’s look at some of these, in no particular order:

How was Jesus Conceived? Why Does It Matter?

How was Jesus Conceived? Why Does It Matter?

There is every reason to believe that God made the universe, as recorded in Genesis 1. God is responsible for the existence of the highly complex DNA molecule. I know some will disagree, but it certainly looks like Genesis is saying that God made humans separately from how animals all came into existence. Think about how awesome, powerful, and smart God must be. If he can make the universe, then causing one of Mary’s eggs to be fertilized with human DNA that God designed is child’s play for him. We can’t do that, but God can. If you accept that God in the person of Jesus came among us as a human, his virginal conception is not a problem at all. The Lord regularly performs miracles. At eighteen, she left home and her parents didn’t understand why.

Why Not to Read the Bible in a Year

What does matter, and the passages above show, is that reading and understanding Scripture is vital. It’s not just for intellectual purposes. It’s for how you live. You’ll see that I have used the word “disciple” more than “believer.” That’s because Jesus calls for people  to follow him (Matt 16:24).  Jesus calls us to be disciples, to follow him. One thing that disciples must do is learn. The passages above speak of learning what God wants from us.
